hemosiderin = iron containing pigment that consists of aggregates of ferritin. appears in tissues as golden brown amorphous aggregates. can be identified via Prussian blue stain.

hemosiderosis = accumulation of hemosiderin, primarily within tissue macrophages, without associated tissue or organ damage.

hemochromatosis = is more extensive accumulation of hemosiderin, often within parenchymal cells, with accompannying tissue damage, scarring, and organ dysfunction
