poke the pudgy
vinh tells me that the lab guy who took my blood (for the cholesterol screen) was totally stoked that he got it on the first try because, apparently, i have veins that are harder to find than a 1 day old NICU baby. and he draws NICU babies all the time. geez. he’s a pro, though. one little stick, no rummaging around with the needle. it was over in 2 seconds, which is good for me– while i was waiting for my turn in the hot seat i swear i was becoming tachycardic and diaphoretic. check me out– med student afraid of needles!
in other news, the binging has continued with only a short 1 hour 20 minute cardio session at the gym to break up the mexican food madness. we went to this hole-in-the-wall mexican food place for an early dinner of gigantoid burrito and taquitos covered in guacamole. after the gym closed on us and kicked us out, we ran over to acapulco to watch the rest of the lakers game and eat a big ol’ pecan crusted ice cream covered apple chimi monster of a dessert. it’s a good thing we don’t have cable– otherwise we’d just sit at home getting pudgy while watching the ESPN.
not that i’d complain.
