it’s here! finally, a camera to test out the new (old) film i have! don’t you just love the rainbow stripe down the middle? i’ve taken two pictures so far… one so very light it looks like a sketch (pretty!) and one dark dark self portrait. scans to come sometime soon.

ryan, the mom, and i woke up at 6am this morning and stood in the freezing cold for 1.5 hours to score 2 wiis (one for us, one for jen) and a zelda game.  while other people in line brought tents, large blankets, laptops, and big furry coats, i foolishly stood out in the cold with my puny jacket and flip flops.  after about 30 mins, i lost all feeling in my toes.  thankfully, once we were inside target my entire body began to thaw, and by the time we had our wiis, i was happy again and ready to play.  annie, upon getting her wooden sword in zelda, swung her arms wildly and nearly punched me in the face.  good times.

sadly, the wii does not come with the strange yarn-cow-knocking-over-scarecrows game that william and i played at the mall.  i was looking forward to that.  yarn cow, where are you?

next game: trauma center.

yes, friends, it is here, the happy translucent pink game boy advance– complete with harvest moon! it’s strange playing on such a tiny tiny screen, but it’ll have to do. i need something to destract me during my upcoming 11 hour day of travel to philly. that is, if they don’t ban nintendo on flights before then. argh.

i picked up this cutie pan from williams sonoma a couple days ago… flower shaped petit fours for all! i’ll be making the mini cakes for our upcoming dinner and board games night. but first… a test run!

my camera came! woo! it’s tiny. it’s shiny. it has a pimpy macro function. woo! i’m all ready for the apple picking/tapas/coed nekked bowling weekend. woo! oh….and PIE. woo!

but first… i have to hold some feet.

new toy! move down! my lomo fisheye came today– it’s lovely. made of the cheapest black and white plastic, it sports a monster lens (for a plasticam) and smells like chocolate. or vanilla. i can’t tell. it smells like dessert, though.

i’ve got a roll of film loaded and ready to go… time for pictures!

it’s large. it’s silver. it makes a fantastic little clicky sound when the shutter fires. and yes, it’s digital. i snapped about 50 photos in 10 minutes and poof! downloaded, erased, and ready to start again. and, as expected, the photos are a bi-gillion times lovelier than those coming out of my pocket-sized digital elph. of course, there is still, and will always be, love for the elph.

i’m so spoiled.
