we finished another exam today– so apparently it was time to celebrate. dustin, grampa, cat, and i went out for some tea and dim sum after the exam, and half the kids from the class went out drinking later that night. i stayed at school to study with the sober ones and ended up nursing my tired neck. later in the evening, i watched an inebriated friend struggle to function while i realized why i don’t drink.

it was a quiet day, thankfully… until i drove home around 9pm. i was halfway home when i suddenly saw headlights coming towards me. it took a minute to process that i was less than a mile away from a head on collision. i quickly changed lanes, nearly hitting with someone in my blind spot. the guy honked at me a couple times, but within another minute i was past him and the crazy car going the wrong way on the street. it was a frightening experience. i spent the remainder of the drive home wondering how i could have better handled the situation. hopefully, however, i won’t have to deal with it again.

of course, with the number of drunks on the road, i’d be better off relying on my reflexes and air bags.

thursday night my dad went into the hospital complaining of chest pain. 3 days, a stent placement, and a million medications later, it’s finally looking like he’s feeling better, and we hope that he’ll be released from the hospital soon.

in other news, glenn bought ryan a turtle– so now he has two happy little guys swimming in his tank– athan and shaka.

it’s an obsession, i know.

it’s been another long day of staring at notes and hoping for a miracle. i’ve got two more days of studying for the next exam and then i’ve got a nice weekend.

i missed yoga again today. so much for being responsible. instead, i hit the books armed with green milk tea and a load of guilt. i’ve been stressing out way too much this week– between family, “friends”, and school — i’m not sure whether i’ll end up tearing my hair out or bawling uncontrollably. where are hugs when you need them?

it’s hot.

i brought home a happy new burberry-esque plaid papillon from the mall today– a nice little bag to carry around my cameras in. of course, i was hopeing for a nice louis vuitton one beautiful enough to store the retro gucci sunglasses (that i have yet to buy) in it, but that will have to wait.

in the meantime… i’m happy to be back galavanting with old friends– perhaps i’ll even get my butt back to the gym to salvage what’s left of my muscles. after all, i know all their names by now.

day two of my new fishies: three of the four are doing well– swimming around and eating like mad. my pretty yellow and red swordtail, however, is just hiding at the bottom of the tank under the filter. i worry about him.
