i finished my last exam today. well, technically yesterday. afterwards, i ran home to do laundry and began to frantically clean my bathroom. i’m not quite sure why. while my laundry was drying, i ran to the spa for a margarita body scrub….mmmmm. just what the doctor ordered. and then for my next indulgence, i took annie out to dinner at wabi sabi.

and then… watched le divorce at francisca’s house. once in english/french, once in spanish with spanish subtitles.

and now i’m sleepy, and my laundry remains clean but unfolded. it’ll be done tomorrow, along with a few other chores to prepare for… le vacation.

there’s only 3 more days of lecture before the end of the year! it’s time to hold on for dear life. it’s like pulling teeth trying to study.

i spent friday afternoon at the waterfall again.. this time hiking in “real” shoes– and subsequently getting them soaked and squishy after jumping around in the stream. i had meant to run under the waterfall– but the water was too cold and i chickened out. i broke out the supersampler and the fisheye lens, though– i can’t wait to see how the pictures turned out.

i picked up a national forest pass (yosemite, here i come!) and a book of trails around the area. i think i’m getting used to being so far away from the beach. of course, the beach doesn’t have a rattlesnake season, fire hazards, or swarming ladybugs.

i spent the evening at francisca’s house watching oh brother where art thou and a severely damaged dvd of sex and lucia. as if the movie wasn’t vague enough, it kept skipping around from chapter to chapter. but… now i’m curious, so i’ll have to rent it again sometime.

today was a warm day— a lazy day– i’m so incredibly unfocused. i vaugely remember passing around almonds and watching jonesy talk about polio-something. what a waste.

the lakers game was obscene. one minute they’re winning, then they’re losing, then it’s .4 seconds and they’re down… and magically, they win. it was exhausting just watching it.

time to get to work.

i spent the evening at a women’s mentorship dinner sponsored by the girlie clubs at the university. the topics of choice: when to get married, when to have kids, what to do if you are already married, what to do after you have kids.

so… i have to have kids from 25-35 yrs…. with someone who isn’t a doctor… sometime during or after my residency… and i need a live in babysitter.

and somehow, i need to fudge in vacation time.
