procrastinating

Sunday, September 12th, 2004 at about 5:15 pm

after a fun filled korean bbq lunchy, my guests left for home. i studied for a while before getting sidetracked. a couple mouseclicks later… i had a new blog design using an illustration by the very talented SHAG. oooh. i suck at this whole CSS/movable type thing, so it’s going to be a bit messy for a while. for now, voila! i present to you my new blog-o-riffic. viewed best in IE, apparently.

and now… back to cardio. i love cardio.

trivialpursuit6.jpgfriday night brought annie, mom, and ryan over to my place for annie’s birthday celebration. we went down to wabi sabi for some teppan table entertainment– complete with shooting fire, flying egg, water spraying, and a rousing birthday song [with a tambourine and a paper hat]. annie got two scoops of green tea ice cream with a candle in it to make up for her embarassment. she and ryan ordered sapporos in celebration of her ability to drink, and the mom ordered a bright pink blended arbor mist thingy. i, as the designated driver, had to console myself with an iced tea.

saturday, i spent the day studying cardio in rowland. afterwards, william and i went down to HK supermarket, where we went searching for strange things written on fobby stationary. i picked out new funky pens that can apparently write on my cell phone and other strange objects (and then be easily peeled off). dude. william translated all the korean signs for me, as i picked out things to try. he was raving about some fresh noodles in the fridge section when he spotted a package that had a large patch of blue mold on it. that was the end of that.

once home from shopping, ryan, annie, and i went to toro sushi– where my exhaustion from the day gave way to hyperactive punchiness. annie and i laughed our way dinner– and especially when she scared the newbie sushi chef [hi, john!] so much that the other sushi chefs and customers turned to look. note to annie: be more careful when addressing man with sharp knife.

not wanting to end the fun quite yet, we went to target afterwards to pick up a board game for some good old fashioned wholesome family fun. we walked away with trivial pursuit 6, the game of random knowlege. i promptly threw down the gauntlet [i’m going to kick y’alls butts!!!!] …. with no response from anyone. hmmph.

we played the game until midnight… eating flan and listening to my mom shout out random states and names in the corner until she passed out and snored the night away. i eventually won first place, annie won second, and ryan… well, he at least got all of his pie slices. so…i’m smart.

smart like britney spears.
