Thursday, September 16th, 2004 at about 8:16 am

i’m pmfingsing, bloaty, irritable, breaking out, and just plain groooooooooss. not to mention that my leg hurts like a mother, and i have a tennis tournament this afternoon. at least it’s doubles. not that i like doubles, but at least i’ll get to stand around and space out. somebody visit me so we can gorge ourselves on chocolate cake and pass out on the carpet.

oh the horror

Wednesday, September 15th, 2004 at about 10:19 pm

i just watched the most disturbing performance by celine dion at the world music awards. she was stomping around the stage, flailing and making strange squaking sounds. it’s hard to believe that she was once a singer.

bloat-tastic

pseudo mi today was another long day of cardio lectures… happily broken up by meeting a new friend, being asked to be the “official photographer” of humanism [the school’s student run magazine/paper thing], and figuring out how to make the little cartoon character on the right [more to come]. the new friend is patrick, who runs the local thai restaurant near my school. cat and i went there for lunchy and some study time. he brought us brownies and we found out that he had finished med school at UCLA and was doing radiology. oooh. if it weren’t for class, we would have chatted longer. next time, perhaps.

last night i moved annie’s blog over to movable type. check out her new layout! it hasn’t been approved by her quite yet, though, so it might change. there’s still a bunch of tweaking to be done with it anyway, but that’ll have to happen after i study.

blah.

overheard at the tennis court last night

Tuesday, September 14th, 2004 at about 7:18 am

“i’m not showering for Dong.”

i finally got our to the courts again after over a week of slacking off and studying cardio instead. let’s just hope it paid off. so… now i’m back trying to get my life in balance again. study? check. exercise? check. fun? check.

francisca and i watched the first 3 episodes of nip/tuck on dvd last night– the surgeries were gruesome, but the storyline, i think was more disturbing. a gerbil died, a doctor got shot up full of botox, there was ham tied to a dead body, and at one point, a poor lady anesthesiologist got sprayed with blood and fat from a lipo procedure. eeeew.

procrastinating

Sunday, September 12th, 2004 at about 5:15 pm

after a fun filled korean bbq lunchy, my guests left for home. i studied for a while before getting sidetracked. a couple mouseclicks later… i had a new blog design using an illustration by the very talented SHAG. oooh. i suck at this whole CSS/movable type thing, so it’s going to be a bit messy for a while. for now, voila! i present to you my new blog-o-riffic. viewed best in IE, apparently.

and now… back to cardio. i love cardio.

trivialpursuit6.jpgfriday night brought annie, mom, and ryan over to my place for annie’s birthday celebration. we went down to wabi sabi for some teppan table entertainment– complete with shooting fire, flying egg, water spraying, and a rousing birthday song [with a tambourine and a paper hat]. annie got two scoops of green tea ice cream with a candle in it to make up for her embarassment. she and ryan ordered sapporos in celebration of her ability to drink, and the mom ordered a bright pink blended arbor mist thingy. i, as the designated driver, had to console myself with an iced tea.

saturday, i spent the day studying cardio in rowland. afterwards, william and i went down to HK supermarket, where we went searching for strange things written on fobby stationary. i picked out new funky pens that can apparently write on my cell phone and other strange objects (and then be easily peeled off). dude. william translated all the korean signs for me, as i picked out things to try. he was raving about some fresh noodles in the fridge section when he spotted a package that had a large patch of blue mold on it. that was the end of that.

once home from shopping, ryan, annie, and i went to toro sushi– where my exhaustion from the day gave way to hyperactive punchiness. annie and i laughed our way dinner– and especially when she scared the newbie sushi chef [hi, john!] so much that the other sushi chefs and customers turned to look. note to annie: be more careful when addressing man with sharp knife.

not wanting to end the fun quite yet, we went to target afterwards to pick up a board game for some good old fashioned wholesome family fun. we walked away with trivial pursuit 6, the game of random knowlege. i promptly threw down the gauntlet [i’m going to kick y’alls butts!!!!] …. with no response from anyone. hmmph.

we played the game until midnight… eating flan and listening to my mom shout out random states and names in the corner until she passed out and snored the night away. i eventually won first place, annie won second, and ryan… well, he at least got all of his pie slices. so…i’m smart.

smart like britney spears.

food food food!

Thursday, September 9th, 2004 at about 10:07 pm

this morning i was greeted with a “choco taco” ice cream from tram as a thank you, i think, for letting her borrow my shorts. lunchy was provided free from the internal medicine club. and dinner was the best– korean food made by william (and his mom)! mmm. i’m spooooooooooiled.

i studied for practically the whole day… with only a couple short breaks to look at william’s photo albums and dream about building one of my own. i’ll start shortly.

and… i think i have carpal tunnel in my right hand. damn.

singing, dancing, and lauging hysterically at the wedding of a couple that you barely know (but really are supposed to) in your fabulous new BCBG gown (that you bought the day before). it was a fun night– complete with pink pink pink super pink decorations, lobster, poorly chosen entertainment, and a raffle for a george foreman grill. i think i consumed about half a liter of soda over dinner. it was quite burp-tastic.

why is my head so incredibly large?
