long class days

why is it that my biochemistry lectures are like a sprint, and my physiology lectures are like a long, arduous, marathon?

warning label

Sunday, September 5th, 2004 at about 9:50 am

not-recommended.jpg here’s a scan of the label i found while studying at a friends house last week sometime. this product can cause caoking! oh the joys of the asian folk. i thought the strange mixed up english was confined to the stationary that they sell at morning glory. i’m curious to see what other fun i can find at the local 99 ranch.

children under 3 not recommended!

some things are just hilarious after a long day of studying about blood problems, you know?

in other news, i had a dream that i was walking through a candy shop and i found one that was called “infectious mononucleosis”. i think it was actually a gum and candy set. the strange thing was that i didn’t really think it was THAT odd, just a bit funny. i was too busy trying to find something called a “double decker” chocolate bar. mmm. chocolate.

another day of tennis in the blistering heat. today, kapil, cat, and xavier came out for some doubles action and a LOT of water. i was too busy complaining about the heat and wondering when the fall weather was going to come when i realized… i have a second serve! woo hoo! no more dinky poops. of course, i have to be more careful with cat… i hit her smack in the belly with one of my serves. oops.

dinner tonight was a bbq at the house of the infamous Dr. Wong, as part of the asian health professions group on campus. i chatted it up with the new DO students and heard some hi-larious gossip from steven. nate’s little dog stole the show, though– he had everyone crowding around him, feeding him pieces of hot dog buns. so spoiled.

i’m all showered and clean now, and ready to hit the books… but i still haven’t done my laundry. i might have to wear my prom dress to school tomorrow. doh! why don’t i have a washer/dryer???

of course, i’d settle for a maid.

and more stupid news… my paper cut is making it hard for me to do my everyday things– i have to wash my hair with one hand, it hurts to type, and i’m perpetually petrified when i reach into my backpack.

and speaking of the backpack, i pulled it out of my trunk today, without realizing that it was unzipped, and promptly flung the entire contents of one of the compartments across the parking lot at my apartment. oh the shame. i scrambled to retrieve my poor cell phone, note cards, highlighters, pens, etc. in fear that any minute then, a car would come by an squish everything. good grief.

i got the papercut from hell this morning during OMM lab. one minute i’m grabbing for my notes out of my backpack, the next minute i’m gush-tastic. oh the pain! cherie eased some of my pain by doing some nice soft tissue to my neck. oooh. me likey.

i dropped another million dollars on books today– partly out of guilt, and partly out of being scared out of my mind when asked to do a full H&P on a non-english speaking patient earlier this week at montclair.

dinner tonight: sashimi and a spicy salmon hand roll on soy paper. i’m so spoiled.
