time to cram for USMLE.
the end is near!
wierd things i didn’t know (but maybe should):
- you can’t give buproprion to a bulimic or anorexic person, it may cause seizures in people with electrolyte imbalances
- the reason why you can’t eat tyramine containing foods when you’re on an MAOI is because you’ll build up bunches of tyramine and tyramine displaces NE from postganglionic sympathetic neurons and you’ll just get sympathetic madness
- halothane can cause idiosyncratic hepatic failure
- indipamide is a thiazide diuretic that can be used to treat osteoporosis (why haven’t i heard of this one????)
- you use a strange, torture-device-esque tool to administer the smallpox vaccine. ouch.
